Most retailers treat their storefront windows as a place to look out from, not a place to communicate from. That’s a missed opportunity. Window graphics are one of the highest-impression, lowest-cost marketing assets a brick-and-mortar business can deploy, and they work for almost any storefront. Here’s the rundown.
What window graphics can do
Display your hours and contact info so passers-by don’t have to walk in to find out when you’re open. Promote a current sale or seasonal offer. Reinforce your brand identity with colors, patterns, or a tagline. Create privacy in a fishbowl storefront while still maintaining some transparency. Direct people to a specific door or service.
Cut vinyl: the classic option
Individual letters and shapes cut from solid-color vinyl, applied directly to the inside or outside of the glass. Clean, professional, easy to update. Great for hours, phone numbers, branding elements, and simple logos. Inside application is more weather-protected; outside has the benefit of being readable through tinted glass.
Perforated window film: the printed option
For full-color graphics — large logos, photo-realistic images, scenic backgrounds — perforated window film is the go-to. It’s printed vinyl with tiny perforations that let people inside see out clearly, while creating a solid-looking graphic when viewed from outside. Restaurants use it for menu displays; retailers for hero product imagery; offices for branded privacy panels.
Frosted vinyl: privacy plus design
Frosted etched-glass vinyl creates the look of expensive sandblasted glass at a fraction of the cost. It’s perfect for conference room walls, office partitions, and storefront sections where you want light to come through but visibility to be obscured. We can cut frosted vinyl into custom logos and patterns.
Seasonal swap-outs
One of the best uses of window graphics is rotating campaigns. Cut vinyl is removable (with effort) and printed graphics on optically-clear vinyl can be swapped seasonally. Spring promotion, summer offer, fall sale, holiday hours — your window becomes a campaign vehicle rather than a static decoration.
Installation matters
Applying window graphics straight, bubble-free, and aligned across multiple panels requires technique. We handle installation as part of the project — squeegees, application fluid, the works. A great design installed badly looks bad; a simple design installed well looks great.
If your windows are blank, they’re working at a fraction of their potential. Come in and let’s talk about what could go up.
